A unique opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Photonics Packaging Engineer to be part of of advanced photonic IC packaging development, from concept through early manufacturing. What You’ll Do
Lead the development of advanced photonic packaging solutions for complex, high-impact applications
Translate system-level requirements into optical assembly and integration strategies
Drive optical coupling, fiber alignment, and hybrid integration processes
Own and optimize precision assembly workflows, tooling, and metrology
Bridge R&D, prototyping, and early manufacturing to ensure scalable, repeatable solutions
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and commercial teams
Serve as a technical leader and mentor, guiding engineers across disciplines
Troubleshoot complex challenges using data-driven and experimental approaches
What You Bring
MSc or PhD in Photonics, Optical Engineering, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or similar
4 to 8 years of hands-on experience in photonic / optical packaging and assembly
Proven expertise in:
Precision optical alignment (active/passive)
Fiber attach, coupling, and integration
Photonic IC or electro-optical system packaging
Experience working with:
Advanced assembly equipment / motion systems
Process development, validation, and scale-up
Strong understanding of optical + mechanical + thermal + electrical trade-offs
Comfortable in a hands-on, build-and-solve environment
Ability to communicate technically and collaborate across teams
